NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

At Hamilton North Public School, SRE (Special Religious Education) is delivered for half an hour each Friday between 1:55-2:20pm, split into two groups of years K-2 and 3-6 students. The current SRE teachers are Heather Freeman and Merinda Handsaker.
On enrolment parent/carers will be given the multi permission note which contains a section for parents to opt in. After the initial enrolment, notification of change to a child`s enrolment in SRE should be given to the administration office in writing.
The Christian SRE classes offered at Hamilton North Public School are provided by Godspace. All SRE teachers are authorised and trained by an approved provider. During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a seperate classroom participating in meaningful activities such as reading, private study or homework.
